  2. I strongly feel that the success of my business is in direct proportion to the risks and making decisions with COURAGE of my convictions and faith. My favorite highlight to share would be when I stepped out in Faith and COURAGE and allowed myself to be mentored and coached during a very critical point in my personal life. Annie, thank you for being that Life coach and mentor I needed both in my personal as well as in my professional endeavors. You mentored me, taught me, nourished me and helped me to grow with unconditional love. Unconditional love when it comes from God through another person is one of the best gifts we can give and it is even greater to receive.

Annie, in witnessing your example, I want to share results with you. Your question here gave me the perfect opportunity to do just that! Today in my professional life, I am now able to apply and pay forward those valuable lessons learned into my everyday professional goals through my work with children and families who contact me as Founder of Joshua Rose Foundation. God Bless you Annie for everything you do in empowering others to live their dreams! I am living proof of your seeds of courage sown into me throughout the years!

  3. Wow !!!What a FANTASTIC LIST !!!! BIG WOOO HOOO!! ON COURAGE and Standing up for how you feel..or for who you are... or for what you believe... I have a son ... he is 26 years old.. stands at 4'9 and weighs 80 pounds... he has a size 2 foot... he is not a little person.. or midget.. he is just Jesse.. small stature...born with many problems.. he thrived despite the doctors predictions... and at 10 years old was honored with a "YES I CAN" Trophy ... I believe one is born with "courage" implanted into ones DNA...and perhaps a situation might occur that brings out courage..or to be brave... or real.. but I also feel that a parent or teacher or a life coach... might light a spark.. to set a person on the path of being courageous... hmmm so many thoughts going through my mind... Jesse recently graduated from Berklee College of Music .. he is a Music Therapist and phenomenal musician .. after reading Akuas Kiekit letter to you.. I think perhaps now would be a perfect opportunity for Jesse to meet you Annie !!! You would be an amazing spark for him.... as he steps down the path of creating jobs for himself !!!! Love you xxx Meredith xxxx

  6. Annie, thank you for taking the time to research, select great quotes, and post this list. I remember working for Chip Wilson, the Founder and CEO of lululemon athletica in Vancouver, BC. He has assembled an amazing company manifesto (posted on their company website) for living - which includes the quote, “Do one thing everyday which scares you”. Annie, I know you have a predisposition for action, so that quote from Chip is all about courage, "in action", and I think represents a very easy hands on way to put a concept like courage into action everyday. I actually think about it when I am about to pause from making an important sales call, or telling someone what I really think (even when I know it may hurt), or being an example for my young girls (10 & 12), even when I do not feel like it at the moment, simply because it is the right thing to do. Courage is doing and saying the right thing (appropriately), even when it hurts to do so, and even when it scares you to do so.

  7. I realized that I did not complete the entirety of what was asked so here is the rest of my answer

    2) I believe Courage can be learned by the examples of others as well as something we are all generally born with as children as we have that childlike courage of being "invincible"

    3) Courage to me in my personal and professional life is having the integrity and moral fiber to stand by your convictions even if it means you are not the "popular choice". It means knowing that you will stand strong by your beliefs and not be swayed by the opinions of others. Courage means that you will stand up for your family , friends, and colleagues when appropriate to do so, even if it loses you favor of others. Courage is doing the right thing even when the right thing is the hardest choice to make. Courage is having the courage to forgive others who have hurt you personally or professionally, forgive them and move on to a place where both parties can continue to grow. Courage is not participating in the rumor mill when everyone around you is talking, having the conviction to tell them they are wrong for speaking without knowing the facts and then walking away. Courage is once again, standing by your convictions.

  9. AkuasKeiki,

Thank you so much for taking a moment to answer all three questions on Courage -- most inspiring and without a doubt moving to anyone who reads it!

I have read your testimonial, and simply thrilled to learn of the impact my coaching services had on your life both personally and professionally. Congratulations on your latest endeavors, a true reflection of what courage is all about, when put into practice relentlessly and consistently over time!

    Rock On AkuasKeiki!

  10. Merryweather,

Thank you so much for taking a moment to share about your son Jesse, and congrats to his most recent graduation from Berkley College of Music! YAY! That in itself spells COURAGE -- i,e, to make a choice, take action on a choice, to stick to a choice through thick and thin, and to complete the mission as a result of that choice, crossing over the finish line!

Clearly, your son accomplished that with his most recent graduation! You must be such a proud mom Merryweather! Major Kudos to you too, for Jesse is a great reflection of you, of your love, encouragement, support, commitment, and dedication toward him in achieving his goals.

That said, I am so glad you had an opportunity to read AkuasKeiki's testimonial. It would be my privilege to one day, connect with you and your son. No doubt in my mind, that Jesse will achieve anything he sets his mind to.

Fully realizing that what I am about to boldly say is in Faith stamped with COURAGE, so here it goes. Merryweather, I believe (without tangibly seeing or knowing) that Jesse has your WILL and determination in him! I also believe by Faith and insight that Jesse is a rare being, someone who is all heart. Whereas some folks may have a hard time understanding WHY he's feeling a certain way or doing things in an unconventional way, he pursues his inner knowing, and in the end, somehow surprises everyone, beginning with that of himself, for this brings him true fulfillment!

Merryweather... you and I have not talked about your son before. All I know is the little bit you've posted here on my blog. If I have erred in any way communicating the essence of your son, please tell me and I will immediately rectify my mistake with a humble apology.

On the other hand, if what I have insightfully communicated is accurate, please circle back with me and let me know what you see as far as my involvement as a Communications Coach in Jesse's life.

Many Blessings to you and your son,
    With Love, Respect, and Appreciation,
    ~Annie

I love the quote you referenced by Chip Wilson, “Do one thing everyday which scares you." This quote is indeed all about COURAGE! 14. Hi Annie,

I guess you already have your top 20. Anyway, here's another one.

"One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest." ~ Maya Angelou

    Have a great day..keep smiling.

  19. Courage - I know Why, not sure the How!

  20. John Hipes,
What a joy to see you here.... I like Hemingway... can you tell? (smiles) so yeah.. me thinks too! So glad you enjoyed the post!

Speaking publicly comes easy... hmmmm... perhaps for you and me, yes... but for some, and I say this compassionately, not so much... and we can write a book about the many fears, challenges and obstacles that folks choose to allow, to get in the way of their target vision and mission.

As for singing... same as explained above...
    Making phone calls, same applies...

There is courage involved in each of those instances you have referenced, of course in varying degrees per individual.

When you mentioned about "making phone calls...now that takes courage" -- if I may ask, are you referring to making "sales" calls, or referring to something entirely different?

    ~Annie

  21. My dear friend Sean...
How wonderful to see you here!

The key is to LOCK IN on the WHY, immediately followed by action! The HOW will eventually follow suit without much thought -- natural progression!

You're at a great place by not being sure of the HOW... and at an extraordinary place by wisely knowing your WHY...and you my friend, are WISE that way! ~Annie
